Garett,

Thank you, it's always good to know that people find it useful (nothing worse than me thinking I've done a good job and you thinking I've done a bad one!).

Yeah some of the scheduling of the APEX sessions at OOW left a bit to be desired, but I guess that's one of the penalties we have to pay for APEX becoming more popular (more sessions = more potential overlap).

I was at your presentation and I enjoyed it. Feedback-wise, the bit concerning the bind variables at the end was useful. It would never have occurred to me that using :APP_USER instead of v('APP_USER') could result in large performance gains (though it does make sense now that I think about it). Also, I agree with Eric about having concrete statistics for comparison purposes. They were immensely useful at illustrating have much load was removed from a server by simply caching images and pages.

It would have been nice to have caught Dimitri's presentation as well, even if one's boss won't give you a raise for being able to print ;) (mind, I did catch the HOL over at Oracle Develop on the subject so I think I got most of the highlights with the possible exception of XML-FO, which he might have touched on ... and I was curious about adding images/headers to the pdf reports)

I hadn't quite realized how many presentation were being given on APEX at OOW (Oracle's presentation lists leaves something to be desired) and I missed most of the ones on Sunday as well, which was unfortunate.

The presentation was excellent.

It was very entertaining and John was able to communicate to a wide range of experience levels. The demos were backed up with concrete statistics which really drove home the points he was making.

Nice job
